In Korea, Korean-style Chinese cuisine or cuisine from northern China is strong, so there are very few places to taste cuisine from southern China (Cantonese cuisine).
Jue is one of the places where you can taste the essence of rare Cantonese cuisine in Korea.
1. Jasmine tea
Tea is the representative beverage of China, so much so that people think of China = tea, tea = China. There are a variety of teas available, including pu-erh tea and jasmine, as I prefer jasmine tea, so the final choice was jasmine. The tea was served on a small stove to keep it warm.
1. Petit Appetizer
The overall atmosphere of the restaurant felt like a gallery, and each and every plate was as beautiful as a painting.
Appetizers to whet the appetite included pickled wood ear mushrooms and fried vegetables. The slightly spicy taste of seasoned vegetables was enough to stimulate the salivary glands.
2. Dimsum sauce
Three types of sauces are provided to eat with dim sum. There was yellow paprika, doubanjiang, and XO sauce, and they were all unique and delicious. Personally, I would like to give points to the yellow paprika sauce, which cannot be tasted anywhere else.
3. Shark Dim Sum and Chive Dim Sum
Shark Dim Sum is seafood dim sum with crab meat and shrimp meat. It has a pleasant chewy taste and seafood aroma. Chive Dim Sum had a slightly thick texture.
In the case of shark fin dim sum, the sauce was soy sauce based, and it blended well with the taste of the dim sum. No fishy taste at all
Chive dim sum is not a recommended menu item to order unless you don't eat dim sum often.
4. Shrimp Cheung Fun
Uniquely, pasta was served as one of the main courses. The sea urchin r
Cheung Fun, one of my personal favorite dim sum dishes. Jue embodies the local taste that I ate when I used to live in Shenzhen. I liked the combination of the sweet and salty soy sauce and the soft dumpling skin.
5. Abalone dim sum
Abalone dim sum is served with siu mai dim sum made from pork as a base and topped with whole steamed abalone. Abalone is slightly boiled in sauce and served. There is a hint of starch in the sauce, which presents an unexpected combination in the mouth.
6. Fried eggplant
Personally, I think it is the ingredient that maximizes the taste when cooking Chinese style. Jue's fried eggplant dish is thinly fried eggplant and stir-fried with pepper. The outside was crispy. When I take a bite, the juice from the eggplant spreads in my mouth.
7. Yangzhou Fried Rice
Yangzhou Fried Rice is the best among Chinese fried rice. I am thankful that I can taste this iconic dish in Korea. However, Yangzhou fried rice definitely tastes best when eaten at a long-established street restaurant rather than feeling luxurious.
